Hitched have just announced that Winton Castle has been shortlisted for an award as the Best Castle Wedding Venue!

Does Winton Castle Deserve a UK Wedding Award?
Hitched asked us why we thought we deserved to win a UK wedding award so we thought we’d let our lovely brides and grooms answer that question for us:
When Meg and Scott in Atlanta in the US decided on a destination wedding, there was only one choice: the Monteith’s ancestral homeland, Scotland, and only one wedding venue, Winton Castle.
119 friends and family travelled all the way from Atlanta to join Meg and Scott for their summer wedding. Expectations were surpassed as they enjoyed Highland games in the walled garden, barbecues on the Peacock Balcony and their wedding breakfast in a marquee on the croquet lawn, finishing with dancing in the castle.
Meg said: “In the week following our nuptials, my phone has been overrun with messages from friends and family who had the most wonderful things to say about Winton – and, more specifically, Winton staff.
“…Planning a wedding from 4,000 miles away is as daunting as it is exciting. Intuition told me we were in good hands… No stone was left unturned, and your team anticipated even the most minute needs of guests young and old.” You can see Meg & Scott’s lovely story and great video here.
Fiona Ralph and Craig Shiells from Edinburgh held their summer wedding at Winton Castle with 70 family and friends: “Our guests absolutely loved being at Winton. We received so many compliments on the day from friends and family, and several months later, people are still raving about the venue!” You can see more in Fiona and Craig’s wonderful blog.
And the final word was provided by Jenny & Nick about their wedding:
“We not only had the time of our lives but many of our wedding guests said that it was the best wedding they had ever attended!… We couldn’t have picked a more perfect venue for our wedding day.”
