It was grey and chilly outside in early February, but a warm welcome awaited TreeStory as they arrived for their strategy and planning meeting at Winton’s Potting Shed.
The Potting Shed is an informal events venue in Winton’s Walled Garden close to the castle. It comfortably seats up to 30 guests for a conference and meeting, lunch or private party, and up to 50 guests for a drinks party or barbecue. The Potting Shed is popular for outdoor parties during the warmer months.
TreeStory is an innovative Scottish consultancy who aim to reconnect people with nature and offer holistic, sustainable forestry solutions that combine their technical expertise with their passion for the natural environment. They are also currently forestry consultants for Winton Estate who share their passion and desire to nurture a sustainable forestry system that will benefit both the estate’s eco system and the local community.
It was TreeStory’s connection with Winton that brought them to the Potting Shed for their strategy and planning meeting for 5 members of their team. They needed a private, quiet space to meet and chat through their plans and goals for their exciting new venture ‘TreeStory.Learn’.
“We were absolutely delighted by the space from the first moment we walked in! The natural light, tasteful decorations and simple wooden furnishings, which give the Potting Shed a refreshing ambience,” says Sonia Brown from TreeStory.
“We had a 2 hour meeting followed by a soup and sandwich lunch. The catering and service were great! We really appreciated the tea, coffee and treats upon arrival, as well as the very generous lunch portions. The attentive service made us feel very well taken care of.”
How Well Did Winton's Potting Shed work for your Strategy and Planning Meeting?
“The facilities were excellent. It was delightful to have one table for our meeting, then migrate to another for lunch.
“For future meetings or presentations with bigger groups, a larger projector screen would be appreciated, but the size of screen worked very well for our small group.”
TreeStory already have plans in place to return to Winton’s Potting Shed for planning meetings and to use the space for future TreeStory.Learn. forestry courses, and, who knows, maybe a few extra activities will be thrown in for fun!
