“Winton Castle is a member of Scottish Land & Estates and we were aware of their wide range of activities and team-building options for our staff day out,” says Nadia Flaherty, Membership Coordinator at Scottish Land & Estates.
“We were delighted to visit a member’s business and support them while everyone enjoyed a day out together.”
Scottish Land & Estates describes its role as ‘Helping rural Scotland thrive’. ‘Our vision is to have the true value and contribution of rural land-based businesses recognised and valued both publicly and politically…’ Its members range from campsites to community owners to country estates, all of whom are passionate about promoting rural Scotland.
“After over a year of working from home and various guidelines and restrictions, the staff day out gave us a great opportunity to get together and have a team building workshop in Winton Castle’s beautiful facilities,” continues Nadia Flaherty.
“We chose Clay Pigeon Shooting and Archery. We spent a whole day at Winton Castle with the activities in the afternoon. Both activities were great and everyone thoroughly enjoyed them. The clay pigeon and archery instructors were brilliant for both those with and without experience.
“On arrival we received teas and coffees and made use of a beautiful hall for our morning team building. Julie was very helpful and offered tables, chairs, a projector and screen. We then enjoyed a lovely lunch of soup and sandwiches in the Octagon Hall followed by an excellent tour of the castle before our activities.
“Julie and the chefs were very accommodating in ensuring the lunch suited our group’s dietary requirements which was very much appreciated.
“It was a great day out at Winton and everyone really enjoyed it. From our contact with Julie to arrange the day, the lovely facilities and delicious lunch, to the very helpful activity instructors, it was brilliant from start to finish.
“It was really good to all be together and enjoy a marvelous and relaxed day out at beautiful Winton Castle.
“Everything about Winton was excellent. Our activity day out was very well organised – arranging a group day out to meet everyone’s needs was made straight forward by Julie and the team. We would definitely go back to Winton Castle and recommend a staff day out there to any other teams that need to get together at an inspiring venue.”
