Remote-First Software Business Reunited its Team at Winton Castle for an Offsite Away Day of Fun, Food and Festivities

Aveni brought together their dispersed UK-wide team to Winton for a mid-summer away day and celebration with Highland Games, a barbeque, lawn games, meetings and lots of laughter.

Aveni is an Edinburgh-based software business that harnesses the power of voice with the latest in AI to automate exceptional productivity and compliance in financial services.

Kim Grant-Thomson from Aveni shares her feedback on their company party below.

Why did you choose Winton for your away day?

“We chose Winton Castle because of its beautiful grounds and space, the inclusion of traditional Highland Games, and the fact that it was able to support our entire team in one space.

“Aveni is a remote-first workplace, so the objective was to bring everyone together from all over the world to catch up on company successes, celebrate the hard work of our staff, and reconnect in real life.

“From a planning perspective, this was probably the least stressful event we’ve organised. You and your teams were so friendly and accommodating, and nothing seemed too difficult. It’s such a beautiful venue and you really made the day memorable.”

What was the feedback from your guests about the barbecue and activities?

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and many of our team said it was the best offsite we’d had.

“The food was delicious and it was great that we were able to cater to some serious dietary requirements.”

Were there any memorable or funny moments?

“I’m not sure what was more memorable, watching the leadership team take on the Highland games experts or watching our CEO set up a TV through one of the windows so that the England Euros game couldn’t be missed.

What do you particularly like about Winton?

“Winton was elegant and welcoming. Though grand, it wasn’t imposing and the staff made us feel comfortable from start to finish.

“The food was great, and the Highland Games was so well organised and fun – the fact that even our developers and engineers were raving about it was a feat in itself.

“Once again, huge thanks from our team to yours, we look forward to organising future events with you soon!”

Winton has a special Team Reunion package for company parties in its Walled Garden to reunite colleagues to take stock, unwind and have fun. Visitors find their away day works well for team building, a little blue sky thinking, or just to catch up with colleagues over beers, Prosecco and a BBQ.
